Beachgate CondoSuites & Hotel

We booked here last-minute, and it met a few key needs — it was within our budget, close to the beach, and had good A/C. Check-in was simple, the code worked, and the bathroom looked very clean. That said, the layout of our unit was unusual and, I suspect, not typical of all the rooms here. When we got to the third floor of Building 5, ours was the only door with an “A/B” after the room number. All the other rooms on the floor seemed to have their own balcony on the back side, while ours opened into a narrow hallway with a fridge, microwave, toaster, and broom. At the end of that hallway was a locked door to what appears to be a private residence. We could hear the neighbors very clearly (cooking, conversations, even someone blowing their nose), and I’m sure they could hear us just as easily. Cooking smells also came through, so the hallway smelled like seafood the entire stay. The bedroom was fine for sleeping — bed was firm but acceptable, pillows were flat. The TV was small but worked. Wi-Fi was so weak in our room that it was basically unusable. And although the bathroom appeared spotless, we did find bugs on a few occasions. Overall, I don’t think every room here has this layout or issue, but if you get one like ours, expect more noise, smells, and less privacy. For a quick beach trip on a budget, it worked, but I’d choose a different layout next time.

Our stay at Beachgate Condos was nothing short of phenomenal! Our rooms were spacious, with comfy couches and beds. The kitchen had everything we needed during our stay. The quick walk to the beach was awesome and the kids loved having different pools to choose from. The staff were friendly, helpful, and inviting, they made us feel like we were just a part of the community. You know, that is what w=made this place so special, it is its own little community. The other guests even welcomed us and invited us back. Lots of regulars who come back year after year. Thank you Beachgate for your hospitality! We cannot wait to visit again!!

We decided very last minute to bring our daughter in law to Port A as she has never been to the beach. I was going to throw in the towel and book a room in corpus because I couldn’t find a single decently priced room via google. I made a post on a local Facebook page asking if anyone had any accommodations and Sean reached out right away. We ended up loving it so much we stayed another night. The condos are clean and comfy with everything you need. Our unit even had puzzles. It’s on the beach and the staff was amazing. Thank you Beachgate for being awesome. We will definitely be back!

We’ve been coming here annually for several years. Some rooms are better than others, but overall, you cannot beat the location. The kids really love the heated pool. The heated pool wasn’t open during our last visit due to maintenance, but I suppose you got to do that at some point. I believe it should be done soon. if the hot tub last heated pool is important to you, you may want to double check while booking. We had a great time with the cool pool and the beach. Will definitely be back

I'm not a bougie person when I go to the beach. I need a clean room, a safe location and an easy walk to the beach. Beachgate hits all of those things. I come down to Port Aransas around 5 times a year and have been doing so since the 70s. So I stayed at a lot of places and have seen the best and worst of the island. If you want a simple, clean room with a comfortable bed and crisp sheets, this is the place to go. Fridge and microwave worked, TV for the evenings and personally, I'm set. I saw another review stating there was no hot water. I initially thought so but if you let it run for a little bit you get plenty of hot water and there's no issue, at least that was my experience. This was a solo trip, just me with a medical assist dog. I felt totally safe and the staff was truly amazing. Helpful and friendly! The walk to the beach via the little Boardwalk means I'm 2 minutes from room to sand without having to drive and I do like that. It's also really reasonable price wise. Thanks so much Sean, Miranda, Vince and the others whose names I forgot at the moment. Employees are so helpful and friendly. If perchance there is something you don't have in your room that you need the office is very accommodating and ready to help. Vince knew that I was struggling a bit and just jumped right in without a thought to help me get my bags up (knew I didn't have any tip money on me but didn't care. It wasn't about that). He was just helping a guest. There's a restaurant next door if you really need something right away to eat but it's close enough to everything in town so it's not an issue. Coffee maker, microwave and fridge are all I needed on this trip and everything was there. If you need ice they sell it at the office which is a plus because there are many places on the island that don't have ice or let you fill coolers but you don't have to go anywhere! And if you want to do a load of laundry before you leave so you don't have to drive several hours with wet towels, there is a washer and dryer available for everybody. I'll be going back in a few months and I recommend this place.

Me and my boys had a spur of the moment trip and Beachgate did not disappoint. The rooms were spacious and the location was perfect. We got 3bedroom/ 3 bath. They provided everything we needed and the staff were very kind and welcoming. Wonderful trip! Highly recommend, I will be staying here on my next visit. Thank you for the hospitality and comfort.

What can I say? It’s literally a stones throw from the beach. Going to the beach? Stay on the beach. The staff here gives this place 5+ s. Friendly and so helpful. A friend and I went down in March without reservations and stumbled upon this place. We loved it so much we booked again for this past week. Once back we decide to extend our stay and the staff happily helped us to do so. There is a restaurant within walking distance. You have direct access to the beach, either on foot or drive (don’t forget your beach sticker if you’re parking on the beach). Each room has either a kitchenette or a full kitchen. The property has two pools, one heated with a spa, a fire pit and grill areas and shuffle board and cornhole. They also have beach and sand toys available to checkout. We loved that they are dog friendly and on actuality it cost us less to bring our dogs than to board them. Overall. Love it!! We will be back soon!

Thank you to their staff! Our family decided last minute to spend another night Sunday 08/10- in port A and were looking for a spot. They accommodated a 1 night last minute, decent prices, clean rooms and so helpful! Rooms had great views and couldn’t be a better location! Thank you to Miranda and staff upon check out I realized I forgot my glasses in the room! When we went back it had already been stripped and with a call they looked and found them in linens! We will be booking again!! Thank you Beachgate crew!
